Teens on Cybercrime Law (Transcription) - Rahameliza dela Pena

The video I supposed to upload, unfortunately, corrupted. ><  :((

Good thing I can reach my participants through phone and internet.

So, here it is,  I asked them on their stand about Cybercrime law. Transcipted answers provided.

Micah Dagoy:  Anti ako. Negative dating sakin.

Charles Adrian Cruz:It's bullshit! Gusto ko sya. Pero kailangan lang mabago ng kaonti yung ibang sections nito. Para maging fair. Nawawala yung freedom eh.

Em Caravaca: I totally support the law but they should at least inform the people about what it really entails. I myself do not fully know what the law is about but if it would mean less pornography, less cybersex, less bullying, then I'm all for it.

Ruston Dungaol: In favor po. It's time na po siguro na matuto tayo mag substantiate at maging maingat sa mga pinopost natin sa cyber space. Konting polish na lang po ng mga nilalaman , then, It'll be perfect to be wholly implemented.

Alyssa Avellanosa: Deprivation from freedom of speech.

Roselle Hipolito: Siyempre against ako dun. Napaka-babaw naman ng batas na yun eh. Di man lang pinag-isipan....At saka, paano na yung freedom of expression?

Sheranie Waje: Hmmm, against po ako kasi syempre everybody has freedom of speech and expression naman. And besides anybody who gives comments and opinions is held responsible of what they're expressing.

Angelyka Arca: Abstain. HAHA! Pero more of anti kase gusto ko irevise nila yung law. kase ang daming flaws eh. May parts na tama may parts na may pinoprotektahan yung batas kaya ayun.

CYBERCRIME LAW

Chita Nepomuceno

The trending issue about the Cyber crime Law which is familiarly known as   Republic Act No. 10175 (http://www.gov.ph/2012/09/12/republic-act-no-10175/) became the talk for everyone especially for most users of the social networking sites.

To tell you honestly I really admired the creation of the law about cyber crime since it protects the social media users mostly but still I can’t just held it that it may put everyone’s opinions in an unlawful act and isn't this against to the section 4 of article III Bill of Rights of the 1987 Constitution that say, “ No law shall be passed abridging the freedom of speech, of expression, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and petition the government for  redress of grievances.”(http://www.chanrobles.com/article3.htm#.UGw2hk3MgZ4)

CYBER CRIME PREVENTION ACT

Article 1

The most recent issue concerning Social Networking sites is the controversial R.A 10175 also known as Cyber Crime Prevention Act.

In my stand it is good to have this law since in this cyber world rules and law doesn't exist. Anyone can do whatever they want even disparage fellowmen really occurs here. However on some point I think government must focus on important issues like Freedom of Information Bill which is not yet passed.

With the help of this law each of us can practice good and educated freedom of expression. Remember this, we all have the freedom to express ourselves but never forget that we are still humans that must limit or should I say think first before doing such things.

Anti-Cybercrime Law as I think, is not a good practice now that we were on a democratic country.

It symbolizes dictatorship since it shows that we do not have the right to enjoy posting and expressing our thoughts and views especially on issues through online.

Libelous message is hard and though to define. we have different interpretation on different matters. that is how you interpret it. This is how mine.what if you were thinking is not what I actually mean? You think its libelous but  it is not exactly what I mean. How about the users? especially those teens aging from 10-14 years old, I bet they do not know what is the real scope and concept of this cybercrime? how this be explain to them in order for them not to commit this crime? So, how will it be done? Still, there is a confusion.

And with this law, I can assume that many of the politicians might just take that law as an advantage for their career.

Yes, the rights is designed for protection and for the common good and it is not absolute. For every rights comes an obligations and responsibilities need to be performed. but isn't it bad, we strive hard just to have that freedom for so how many years and here they are stealing that?

Having that kind of Law is good. But I think, if it should just open for some amendment , everybody would appreciate it and will discover the real essence of this law.

STRESS IN TEENAGERS

Article 1
Chita Nepomuceno

Like every individual says teenagers is the most adventured life.

If you are to ask me, do I agree?

Automatically I will say yes!

Know why?

Just simply because I’m a teenager and I’d fine it so interesting to live my teenage life but like other says also teenagers is one of which life became so hard this is because teenagers do experience STRESS or I mean stresses in life.

There are several reasons of why teenagers experiencing stress.

1.      Schools,  studies like academic pressures

2.      At home, where your parents and siblings could be the cause like misunderstandings or complains.

3.      Peers, this includes relationships and time allotted with friends, circle of friends or friends of friends.

Those stated above are experienced by me and I can say they are experience also by other teenagers and will still be experience later on. Those mentioned are mostly causes of misunderstandings, complains, academic pressures and the possibility of ruined relationships but still as we continue to live we learn how to stand in every problem or stresses encountered in life this is what we call COPING UP!

And one thing that can help a person to cope up stress is of course your own self and those sources of stress. Do not reject those of stress but rather try to understand your stress and pay attention to it.

TEENAGE LIFE

There are many people
but you feel alone.
You want to do what you want
but your parents say when to come home.
You want to be a grown-up
but on the other hand you miss your childhood.
You are allowed to do so many new things
but there is the fear of decisions and responsibility.
You laugh, you cry, you keep quiet, you want to sing.
Sometimes you can`t explain what you feel. That are problems of TEENAGE LIFE.
Sometimes it`s really great
but it also can be as hard as a knife.

Being a teen are said to be the most enjoyable and busy stage of our life. During this stage, we tend to explore on diffrent things that would help us to improve and develop as a human being.

We keep on knowing ourselves. We keep on discovering our potentials in order to enhance it more to become a succeessful teenager.

But of course, we cannot avoid certain things or situation to happen that will hindres what we want to achieve resulting for us to be stress. To name a few, the following are as follows:

Teenagers became stress when their parents have this high expectation from them. It was a pressure of course. The tendency is that they will pursue to reach and perfrom it but once they get fail, they become stress. They have this feeling of loneliness because they were thinking that their parents will be dissappointed with what they did.

Moreover, teenagers become stress also when it comes to beauty talk. They get stress when they feel that they are not that beauty just like the other. They are conscious about their self.

Life is short, live it.

Love is rare, grab it.

Anger is bad, dump it.

Fear is awful, face it.

Memories are sweet, cherish it.

They say that being teenager is enjoying yet it is the most crucial stage of life.

As a teenager there are a lot of reasons why stress comes. On top of these are emotional stress. Teenagers are very emotional they always seek attention from people around them, they love to be loved.

They are also stress when it comes to people's expectation. Teenagers don't want to lose admiration just because of a mistake.

Teenager get stress when it comes to schools. Of course we all know that this is a place wherein competitive people do exist and they don't want to lose their fight.

Most important reason why teenager get stress is because of love life.

here's a credible reasons of why teenagers get stress:

Teenagers, like adults, may experience stress everyday and can benefit from learning stress management skills.  Most teens experience more stress when they perceive a situation as dangerous, difficult, or painful and they do not have the resources to cope.  Some sources of stress for teens might include:
courtesy of google.com
  • school demands and frustrations
  • negative thoughts and feelings about themselves
  • changes in their bodies
  • problems with friends and/or peers at school
  • unsafe living environment/neighborhood
  • separation or divorce of parents
  • chronic illness or severe problems in the family
  • death of a loved one
  • moving or changing schools
  • taking on too many activities or having too high expectations
  • family financial problems
Some teens become overloaded with stress.  When it happens, inadequately managed stress can lead to anxiety, withdrawal, aggression, physical illness, or poor coping skills such as drug and/or alcohol use.

As a teenager I've been in these scenarios and I was able to cope because of these reasons:

  • I talked to a master in Clinical psychologist which is a friend of mine and tell here my problems - cause and effect.
  • I often shares/ tell to my trusted friends specially love life ^_^
  • being Optimistic
  • learn from others mistake and one mistake at a time is enough
  • lastly, ask guidance, pray, and talk to the Man above- the Lord.

                                                             STRESS IN TEENS

courtesy of google.com
Adolescence is often difficult on its time, especially when a teen is experiencing the same worries and insecurities like the adults have. But the coping skills of a teenager in those worries and problems are very limited; they try to make things possible on their own, they don’t have enough experience and point of view on such things that bugging every person, sometimes they don’t have the courage to confine their feeling to their family, every now and then they felt hopeless on their situation, vulnerable in all kinds of pain and above all is insecurity, for they don’t have enough self-confidence to face the world. And there’s a word that best describe all those worries and problems: STRESS.
We all know that stress strikes on every age of every person in every possible way and as for the teens there are factors that mainly trigger them in stress such as;
1.       Family problems- There’s no such thing as a perfect family, one way or another there will be a difficult time in your family like; misunderstanding between your siblings, disappointment from your parents or having a broken family. And it will greatly influence a teenager’s life for a family is the greatest mold in your life, the reason for who you are, so whenever there’s a problem inside your family it affects you deeply.

2.       Financial problems- there are things in your life that you badly want no matter what, and the first reason why you don’t get that is because of money. There are so many teens that greatly need money for its education, for self-satisfaction things such as bags, clothes, shoes and etc and usually it’s a support for their family needs. And you’re thinking on ways to help them or to have those things.

3.       Study (college life) - oh come on teens! Were not stress-free until we finished our school works. There are so many deadlines for different subjects, exams, projects and such things. You need to do things and find a way to finish all that and that’s where usually stress came from.

4.       Peer pressure- friends. Where you are going to hang-out, quarrelling to your bestfriend, thinking ways to make them laugh or cry and etc. and those things are bugging you on how would you resolve all those things and from that simple things will stress you out of no time.

5.       Insecurities to other people- insecurities! Whether you like it not every person are insecure. There are times that your not comfortable with your own skin, cant stop comparing yourself to others and trying to overcome it by telling and looking evilly to it and finding a way to outclass them. It sucks and it’s stressful to think of ways. J
6.       Afraid of socializing- anxious to get to know other people and don’t know how to approach other people for they are thinking of “what if or what would’s”. That’s why it’s a problem sub from insecurities.

7.       Love life – oohh come on!!  Every one is minding their own and other persons love life, whether it’s a happy ending story or a broken hearted one. Things to mend or make your relationship stronger or trying to find someone who would catch you when you fall things like that.

That’s the reason why a teenager got troubled and stress and if there are reasons of your stress there are ways to manage it. Click the link bellow…

TEENAGE PREGNANCY

Article 1
Mary Jean V. Legaspi

TEENAGE PREGNANCY: A STATUS QUO

THE TEENAGE CREED

Don't let your parents down,
for it was they who brought you up.
Be humble enough to obey today,
for someday you may give the orders.

Choose companions with care,
for YOU become what, they are.
Guard your thoughts, for what you think, YOU ARE!
Choose only a date that would make a great mate.

Be the master of your habits,
or they will soon master you.
Don't ever be a show-off when you drive,
for when you drive with care YOU will always, ARRIVE!

Don't ever allow the crowds to pressure you,
for when you stand for nothing,
you will fall for anything!
Always remember, the purpose of life, is a life full of purpose

Life nowadays are liberated it is very different from the history. Young acts like adults in some aspects like smoking, taking drugs, party here party there, and do sexual intercourse.

courtesy of google.com
Involving in sexual intercourse at very young age may result to teenage pregnancy and end up in early parenthood

Statistics in the United States show that each year, almost 1 million teenage women—10 percent of all
women aged 15-19 and 19 percent of those who have had sexual intercourse—become pregnant and onefourth of teenage mothers have a second child within two years of their first http://philippinechildren.ph/filer/toledo-cebu/Teen-pregnancies-in-the-Philippines.pdf

I'm wondering what is the root of this status quo? Is this famine can be solve? Do the involved really want this? Are they aware of these circumstances? what would be the reason behind why they did this?

A lot of questions come up in my mind.

as I see the society there are a lot of problems involve why teenage pregnancy occurs.

Every time I watch shows discussing teenage pregnancy, some involves says that they really don't want to do it. They are just in the presence of Drugs or alcohol that's why they don't know what they are doing. Others says because they were rebelling.

however, you can't say that t'was not what you wanted because on the first place we are humans we have freewill to do whatever we want. nevertheless, we are not animals so we must think first before doing any steps.

In this case, it is still they they want to do because no one force them it is their decision.

As to the parents, they must direct their children's path specially during teenage period because it is a stage wherein they are aggressive and sensitive.

Article 2

Being teenager is the most exciting part of our life. We live young, wild and free, where there’s no other obligation than studying and being with your family. This is the stage where your usual problem is your appearance, gigs and of course Love life. This is also the stage where you prefer to stay outside and spend more time with your friends.
(Courtesy to: Bing.com)
Teenage pregnancy is a big “WOW” to us but not a wow of amazement usually a wow of disappointment. Filipino’s are conservative one way or another, so seeing a teenagers caring a baby on her womb gets so many negative comments, degrade them for what had happen to them and even question their moral values.. But before anything else, before we judge those teens we should know and be aware of the factors that trigger their pregnancy, such as:
1.       Lack of parental guidance
2.       Lack of education in safe sex
3.       Peer pressure
4.       Vice/habits
5.       Curiosity
Until now there’s still a hot issue on Sex education, whether to discuss it on class or in homes with parents, but the most important matter is in not in where or who will discuss it but the question “what”; It should be discuss with enough knowledge and awareness for them(teens) to understand it clearly. Nowadays we don’t have adequate information in safe sex education; it is still hanging on the senate, church and schools. That’s why the statistics of teenage pregnancy are growing.
Another major factor that contributes to teenage pregnancy is the Lack of parental guidance that can lead to a series of complications. Parents are the biggest influencer to man’s life. They play a big role in your life, the reasons for who you are today. Lack of parental guidance and supervision is a major cause of teenage pregnancy. Sensitive issues like this should be talk about with their kids.

YOUNG PARENTING: A MISTAKE   OR A CHOICE?

courtesy on Google.com

Most Filipinos seems to degrade the image of a pregnant woman in an early age or we should say in the age where studies, friends, family, hangouts or “gimiks” is a priority and the most common thing the young woman should do but because once an early motherhood is experience by the person it seems a hell for her to experience the society’s accusation …” MISTAKE!!!” that sometimes even their parents would put them down.

I think the young parenting is not a “MISTAKE”, and this became normal for me to hear since I’ve known some of those who are experiencing young parenting and I wish the society should take considerations in it.

Maybe for the sense that at an early age of parenting you’ll lose more of your common activities and became more adult in your way of thinking but it doesn’t mean being in a situation of young parenting is a mistake because it is always a choice!

It’s your choice on how are you going to handle the situations.

It’s your choice on how are you going to stand for it.

And It’s always a choice of how are you going to be yourself and continue your way of living with such new obligations and priorities of course to consider.

A KID WITH A KID

Many says that Teenagers life is the most enjoyable and adventurous part of our life. This stage is where you can explore new things to pursue, new challenges to overcome in order to know your potentials and talents are, meeting new friends, you're trying to be independent, you are emotionally and sensitive on different things, . Those are things that you will encounter during these stage. All of us whether we like or not goes on this stage. And it is once in a lifetime that we will experience it. But how if this chance were stole at our very young age? For me, it is very tragic.

"Ang bata, hindi dapat nagdadala ng bata sa kanyang sinapupunan..."

With this line of Ms.Claire Delfin on her scoop on GMA 24 Oras, it is proved that many of the teenagers on our generation were involved in early pregnancy.

It is very alarming for now in our society because of the increasing number of teenagers who become a parent at a very young age. We all know that most of us teenagers are not that ready to face new responsibilities in our life for we have to focus first on our study for the preparation for our future, pursue our dreams and enjoy the life of being a teenager.

"Peer Pressure" is one factor that i think most of us teenagers pushes ourselves to involve in a situation that we don't really know. The environment that we belong has a big contribution that adds curiosity to our mind to do or try it without thinking the consequences on such move.

Without the proper guidance and support of parents, teenagers tends to share the problems, emotions, thoughts, feelings, happiness and pleasure that they have in a wrong way.

But it doesn't mean that parents have the faults why teenagers involved themselves on pre-marital sex resulted in early pregnancy. Still, its the teens who have the faults. Why? If you have the talents, why don't used it in a right way to have income to spend for your everyday lives and for your study if financial is your problem. Keep on fighting if you feel alone because at the end you will become independent, used it as your training. Strive hard to reach your goal for you and your next family will not experienced what you experienced before. Wag kang tumambay. If you have an ambition, study and work if you can. Change your destiny.

For the parents- we need you. We're looking forward that no matter how long or near the path we've reach we are looking for your support and guidance.
